DIY Doggo Fresh Breath Bites
Today we're going to go over how to make a super simple recipe that helps freshen your pups breath while supplying an array of other benefits like improving skin and coat health, supplying antioxidants and improving joint health. This is a no bake recipe that takes less than a half hour
Let's jump in!
What you'll need:
-
1 C. Coconut oil
-
1 tsp. Dried Parsley
-
1/2 tsp. Dried Mint - all mint is safe for dogs except Pennyroyal
-
Cooking pot
-
Mixing utensil
-
Measuring cup with spout
-
Small cutting board
What you'll do:
-
Melt coconut oil over low heat until melted
-
Turn off heat
-
Stir in Parsley and Mint
-
Cover cooking pot for a couple minutes to let the herbs infuse into the oil
-
Place the silicone mold onto the cutting board if planning on transferring to the freezer or fridge
-
Pour oil mixture into a measuring cup
-
Pour mixture into the molds using the spout of the measuring cup
-
Either let sit or transfer to the freezer or fridge
-
Let cool until hardened
-
Pop cubes out into a Tupperware and store in the fridge
These are great when given as treats (might be nice to give outside since the oil will start to melt when your dog starts eating it) or placed onto of your dogs meals as a food topper.
Benefits of ingredients:
Parsley helps to freshen breath. It is also a good source of Vitamin C, A & K which have antioxidant properties, support the immune system, benefit vision, assist with organ function, facilitate liver detoxification, has anti-inflammatory properties and maintains healthy blood clotting.
Peppermint and Spearmint both freshen breath and help to calm the belly.
Coconut oil improves skin and coat health, improves digestion, supports joint health, benefits brain and eye health and can help an overweight dog loose weight.
These "treats" are an addition to a healthy balanced diet. Let me know how you and your pup like these easy & nutritious addition to their diet!
